Livery Company Launches Extranet to Support Charitable Initiatives.

The members of the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists work on a range of charitable and educational programmes, helping the not-for-profit sector gain the maximum benefit from IT. All WCIT members are leading IT practitioners in the UK who undertake work on projects in their own time. The extranet allows them to maintain a pivotal role in the Company’s charitable activities, without compromising other commitments.

The development includes features such as multiple discussion forums, member profiles, and document storage pages that allow members to network, share information and access resources online.

All WCIT members can log into the extranet from the public website, also redesigned by Jamkit. Each working group has its own private pages with current information, news and email discussion, making the site a central location for direct communication among Company members.

Seb Bacon, technical director, Jamkit comments:

“Both Jamkit and WCIT are passionate about helping not-for-profits access the best in information technology, so we are really excited to be working with WCIT on their new website and extranet.”

David Edwards, WCIT’s trust director adds:

“Our members are our most important asset. We have really appreciated Jamkit’s professionalism and attention to detail in developing the new site, and we are confident that we now have a set of online collaboration tools that will really enhance the charitable activities of our members.”
